Melissa, our trailblazing writer, artist, and designer, founded the company in 2022 with the vision of sharing insights and a deep, intuitive understanding of human nature to create a more just world. After years of stagnation and unexpected detours, we can proudly say that we have dedicated ourselves to producing meaningful, one-of-a-kind spiritual art and unique allegorical stories, rich with deep philosophical insights that inspire personal growth and reflection.

Noticeably quiet as a child with a big imagination, our founder regularly engaged in contemplative writing and discovered immense joy in visually and creatively communicating invaluable life lessons for social cohesion. Believing that what makes a great artist is discernment—the virtue of prudence to distinguish good ideas from bad in accordance with the greater good, on, above, and below where all life exists—Smile Sweet Sunflower LLC has become a catalyst for personal and societal transformation.

Our flagship projects, Lében and Eudaimonia, combine visual arts with literature and philosophical inquiry to provoke deep reflection and inspire positive social change, each telling its own unique story.

We are blurring the boundaries between art and philosophy; Lében is an evolving project unfolding across five interconnected worlds. Each subordinate world—At the Garden, The Deep-Sea, Caged-City, Inside the Cave, and The Electric Forest—in the overarching world called Lében (German for ‘Life’) presents unique characters intricately interwoven to convey a myriad of complex ideas about society and the human soul through the literary device of allegory (veiled or figurative language), balancing artistic expression with deeper insights into life.
