Love: Expressions of Sweetness

There’s a certain kind of ecstasy about saying something elegantly.

I do believe that ‘a good domestic relationship’ requires honest communication, a decent amount of space, tolerance for time to bloom or grow, and most importantly an understanding of one another’s philosophies and ideals. Long-term relationships require constant work and sacrifice, and that’s a battle that a lot of Americans do not win; nevertheless, we’re still swimming in lies. Michael Tomlinson — a former member of an Australian indie rock band called, Yves Klein Blue- sang in the song titled, ‘Getting Wiser’ (Dew Process, 2009.), “You’ll soon find it’s no fun to have fun all the time!” Despite this, an ultimate union can also last forever. As I’ve previously mentioned in You Have to Fall (Hernandez, 2022.), an ultimate union is a different kind of love affair! It’s one that recognizes the awe and beauty in the object of desire and wishes to be a devotee at all costs.

How do you show your love? How do you express care or sweet thoughts and feelings!?

Art, love, and life can be defined in the simplest terms as we create, we care, and we live, but these small words can be subject to anyone’s philosophy and take on a whole other meaning.

Love is an expression of sweetness! To love (or care) is the process of making one’s sweet thoughts and feelings known. Ultimately, love is a sort of inclusiveness and domestic love is a kind of transaction that can be felt as energy and read within various forms of communication: verbal, nonverbal, written, and visual — even physical! Nevertheless, the expression of love that can be felt as an energy and/or understood as a message can become different things for diverse people. As a result, love can mean spending quality time together; communicating to understand one another; feeling good about doing good for goodness’ sake; forgiving, but not forgetting for the sake of showing moral responsibility; working side-by-side to overcome obstacles; and growing, learning, and improving. Love, by its very nature, means to care, hope, and act towards the greater good for all living things — even when it’s not reciprocated!
